Ring of Honor Wrestling

What is the ring of Honor you may ask. Wrestling in it truest form. The Antithesis of modern sports entertainment. To prove this the RHO have set up the Code of Honor.

The Code Of Honor

Ring Of Honor has a goal to present wrestling as a sport, not sports entertainment. In order to achieve this goal, ROH will be based on the Code Of Honor, which is made up of five Laws Of Honor. These five Laws Of Honor are intended to promote sportsmanship, respect and honor inside the wrestling ring. The Laws Of Honor will allow ROH competitors to produce the most athletic matches possible. These are the sacred rules that will define Ring Of Honor's product. The Laws Of Honor are:

-Competitors must shake hands before and after their match.

-No interfering in matches or having others interfere on your behalf.

-No harming a referee or causing others to harm an official.

-No sneak attacks.

-If you are disqualified in your match, you have broken The Code Of Honor

However, some matches are not about respect, honor and sportsmanship. Some matches are about settling a heated issue. Some bouts are about hatred and just trying to hurt you adversary. As the issues in Ring Of Honor get more intense, ROH will present more gimmick matches centered on blood feuds. The Code Of Honor will not apply to these matches. Any bout labeled as a grudge match or with a violent stipulation will not be expected to adhere to the Code Of Honor.

The Code Of Honor will still apply to all other matches to insure only the best in ring action with clear winners and losers.

Ring of Honor 4/12/03 "The Epic Encounter" Philadelphia, PA

Ring Of Honor returned to the Murphy Recreation Center last Saturday with a new look and a bout that many are proclaiming the best match in ROH history, which saw Paul London defeat Bryan Danielson in a 42 minute 2/3 fall bout. The new look included new guard rails and a top notch lighting system that added greatly to the live ROH experience. You can pre-order this show now at RFVideo.com or by calling 215-891-9404. Here is a look at all the twists and turns of the evening.

The opening match saw The Backseat Boyz of Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere defeat Da Hit Squad of Mafia & Monsta Mack. After the match, The Backseat's music was cut off, the Murphy Rec Center went black and rave lights and lazers flashed as Mikey Whipwreck and Special K made their way to the ring. Mikey said he was the maker of tag teams and he was going to lead Special K to greatness and The Backseats would be their stepping stones. Dunn & Marcos then came to the ring and said they were the top tag team in ROH. The Carnage Crew of Loc & Devito hit the ring and said they wanted a fight. Trent Acid told them to wrestle in a scramble and that The Backseats would wrestle the winners on May 31st.

A very fast paced, innovative scramble saw Special K of Dixie & Hydro gain the win over Carnage Crew and Dunn & Marcos, The Ring Crew Express. Carnage Crew actually had Dunn pinned after a spiked piledriver from the second rope, but Mikey Whipwreck interfered and hit Loc & Devito with Whippersnappers allowing Dixie to cover Dunn for the pin. After the match, Special K's private security Slugger gave Marcos the Body Bag. The large man who confronted Slugger last show entered the ring again. Only this time Slugger slapped his sunglasses off his face. Mikey then backed Slugger off while the mysterious man gave the body bag to Angel Dust.

AJ Styles & Amazing Red retained the tag team titles by defeating Jay & Mark Briscoe in a match that rivaled their incredible March 22nd bout.

CM Punk vs. BJ Whitmer went to no-contest when neither man could continue after Punk gave Whitmer a German suplex from the apron and through a table on the floor. Punk was very shaken up and Whitmer suffered a concussion and couldn't remember anything from the match. Before this hard-hitting bout, Trinity followed Punk into the ring and sat in the corner like Raven. She then struck Raven's pose and hit a dive on Colt Cabana, who seconded Punk. Cabana caught her and carried her to the back.

Homicide defeated Christopher Daniels to earn a spot in the top five rankings in an excellent match. After the bout, ROH champion Samoa Joe, CW Anderson and Jack Victory of The Group hit the ring and attacked both men. Joe choked out Homicide. Mafia of Hit Squad hit the ring to make the save for what appeared to be Homicide. After Mafia and Chris Daniels cleared the ring of The Group, Daniels ripped off Mafia's Hit Squad shirt to reveal a Prophecy shirt. Daniels then announced "The Prophecy's Assassin" Danny Maff as the newest member of The Prophecy. Da Hit Squad are still be required to team on 4/26 against Colt Cabana and Ace Steel since the contract has already been signed. There will be a weekly clip soon where Maff explains why he joined The Prophecy.

After intermission, Alexis Laree defeated Ariel in a special attraction women's match.

Samoa Joe choked out Hotstuff Hernandez in a hard-hitting non-title match. Hernandez looked impressive. Joe then set up a chair in the ring. Gary Michael Cappetta came in and asked Joe what he was doing. Joe said he was a fighting champion and needed more competition. Matt Stryker, Tom Carter (who used to be known as Reckless Youth) and Colt Cabana entered the ring for their schedule three-way. Joe told them he would give anyone that pinned him the ROH title belt if they would make it a four-way. All three agreed.

Joe won the four-way with a choke out on Colt Cabana. What made this more impressive was that Carter hit Joe with a frog splash from the back of Stryker who was laying on the top rope and Joe still kept the choke on! All four got over with the crowd.

In an absolute classic must see match of the year candidate, Paul London won the 2/3 fall rematch of their great "Night Of The Butcher" bout against American Dragon Bryan Danielson. This match just has to be seen.

After this the official ROH show ended and it was time for the I quit bunkhouse riot. The riot actually started in the locker room. The riot started in the regular building when Iceberg and David Young came brawling through the back of the building including Young doing a senton on Iceberg off the stage. CW Anderson and Homicide came brawling through the aisle way. Jack Victory then came running down and attacked Homicide. While Young, Victory and Anderson were putting the boots to Homicide, the song "Midnight Rider" played and then out of the crowd the legendary Midnight Rider app eared. Many thought it was Dusty as they did in the 80s, but instead Dusty appeared behind The Group and hit them all with bionic elbows. Later in the crimson covered match some old school brawlers came running in from the crowd only to be attacked by J Train and Louie Ramos. The chaotic bloodbath ended when Victory quit after being forked in the mouth by Homicide.

ROH would like to thank all the fans for a successful show

Ring of Honor 3/22/03 "Night Of Champions" Philadelphia, PA

Ring Of Honor returned to the Murphy Rec Center in South Philly for a sold out show that saw Samoa Joe choke out Xavier to win the ROH title. ROH would like to thank the enthusiastic fans that made this another successful event. A new Locker Room Scoops and Top Five Rankings will be out by Tuesday to give you the ramifications of this event. The results saw:

-BJ Whitmer scored his first ROH victory in a four-way over Dixie, Matt Stryker and Alex Arion when Whitmer pinned Dixie with an exploder suplex.

-Gary Michael Cappetta then introduced Mikey Whipwreck and asked him why he turned on his students in Queens. Mikey called The SAT & Quiet Storm to the ring. He told them they were nerds and then Izzy, Deranged & Angel Dust of Special K attacked them. This led to a scramble match that saw the Special K team win when Mikey gave the SAT & Quiet Storm whippersnappers. After the match, Slugger hit Storm with the bodybag, but then a mysterious big man dressed like Slugger came into the ring and had a staredown with Slugger until Special K backed him off.

-In an unadvertised match, The Backseat Boyz defeated Dunn & Marcos and then said they were going to pursue the ROH tag team titles.

-Doug Williams defeated Chris Daniels in a classic to win the FWA title and ROH #1 contender's trophy. It will be Samoa Joe vs. Williams for the ROH title on 4/26 outside of Pittsburgh.

-Mayhem ruled next as CW Anderson and Samoa Joe got in a verbal altercation with some fans. It has been since revealed that those fans are Homicide's crew from the streets. Jack Victory and some of his bar room brawler friends jumped Homicide's crew. Hit Squad and Homicide then hit the ringside area to join the brawl as security cleared out the crew and the brawlers. The scheduled six man pitting Anderson, Joe & Victory (who replaced Michael Shane who was at the hospital for dehydration and a stomach virus) vs. Homicide & Hit Squad ended in a no-contest when Homicide gave Simply Luscious a cop killa. Victory and Anderson then attacked Homicide with a garbage can until the crew rushed back into the building with more members and cleared the ring. They then took Homicide out the front door and to the hospital.

-The Carnage Crew defeated Mase & Hotstuff Hernandez with a brutal second rope spiked piledriver on Mase. Hernandez looked very impressive.

-AJ Styles & The Amazing Red defeated Jay & Mark Briscoe in an incredible match to retain their ROH tag team titles.

-Low Ki defeated Jody Fleisch in a great match.

-Raven & Colt Cabana defeated CM Punk & Ace Steel when Raven hit Steel with the Raven Effect in a Raven's Rules match. The Philly crowd began to hate Punk when the Chicago native preached his straight edge beliefs. After the match, Raven kept hitting Steel with the Raven Effect in an effort to get Punk back into the ring so he could try to hit Punk with the Raven Effect. When Punk finally got in Cabana turned on Raven and the trio put the boots to him. Cabana said that Punk and Steel were like his family since he was trained by Steel and grew up in the business with Punk. Many believe Punk played mind games with Cabana. The trio will now be known as the Second City Saints.

-Samoa Joe defeated Xavier to become the new ROH champion!!! Before the match, Michael Shane, who returned from the hospital, nailed Daniels with a superkick and CW Anderson clocked Allison Danger with a left hand. The battle between The Prophecy and The Group has begun!!!

Full Preview of ROH 3/15/03 Event

Ring Of Honor is set for its third show in Boston this Saturday, March 15th, but this time it will be at a new building. The double tape set ($30) features three unedited versions of the infamous riot plus all the matches, backstage promos, videos, surprise appearances and more. Other new ROH releases include 11/16 "Scramble Madness" from the last time in Boston and 12/7  "Night Of The Butcher" featuring the bloodiest brawl ever seen in ROH with Abdullah The Butcher!!! New RF Video releases include the much anticipated Raven shoot interview part 1 that has three hours of Raven talking about his start in the business, early days in WWF & WCW and all the details of his first run in ECW. Raven talks about it all from womanizing to drug use to behind the scenes stories of his most famous angles. Other new RF Video releases include new Best Of tapes for Chris Daniels as Curry Man, Spanky, Xavier, Four Horsemen, Chris Benoit as Pegasus Kid, CM Punk, Briscoe Brothers and plus the latest from Japan, ECWA, PWF, JAPW, USA Pro, NWA Wildside, IWC and more. If you can't make the show you can still order these releases at RFVideo.com or by calling 215-891-9404.

Here is a preview of what you will see in Boston this Saturday night:

ROH Tag Title Match: Chris Daniels & Xavier with Allison Danger vs. winner of scramble- When Chris Daniels & Donovan Morgan of The Prophecy became the first ROH tag champions on 9/21 at "Unscripted" they were presented with a trophy. Daniels found a loophole and stated that the trophy meant that The Prophecy are tag team champions and therefore any members of The Prophecy could defend the titles. He took advantage of this on 11/9 "All Star Extravaganza" and made the tag title match a six man. Now ROH is fighting back by saying that The Prophecy can defend the tag titles even if Donovan Morgan isn't on the card so Daniels will have to team with ROH champion Xavier to defend the titles against the winner of a four-way scramble match earlier in the night. Allison Danger is sure to break the Code Of Honor and be a distracting presence at ringside in what will be the main event of the night. Xavier has become an expert at saving his title and Daniels knows every trick in the book so this duo is going to be tough to beat.

Scramble For Tag Title Shot: Backseat Boyz vs. Carnage Crew vs. Paul London & AJ Styles with Alexis Laree vs. SAT- Boston has never seen a four-way scramble and all these teams are on a quest to become ROH tag team champions in Boston. The Backseat Boyz of Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere will be in ROH on a more regular basis and have made the tag titles their goal. The Carnage Crew of Loc & Devito have earned respect with their violent hardcore matches and are now looking to show their wrestling sides. Paul London & AJ Styles have been at war with The Prophecy and they want to win the tag titles to win that war. The SAT have come close to winning the belts before and they hope to finally do it in Boston. This match has some of the most exciting and innovative athletes going today and with no tags and only one fall under scramble rules this is sure to be an action packed contest.

#1 Contender's Trophy: BJ Whitmer vs. EZ Money vs. Homicide vs. Samoa Joe- The winner of this one fall to a finish match will get a title shot vs. Xavier on 3/22 in Philly. Whitmer is the darkhorse who could make his name in one night similar to what Doug Williams did at "Road To The Title." EZ Money was impressive in winning the four-way in Queens on 2/8 and is looking to start a winning streak that leads to the title. Homicide has stated he needs to be the top guy in ROH to make the most money so he can make a better life for his son. Samoa Joe could be the most dominating figure in ROH in 2003. On a side note, last time in Boston Homicide defeated Joe in a singles match and now Joe wants to even the score. Homicide is in an intense feud vs. Steve Corino's group, which features Joe as a prominent member. The issue between these two could explode in this match, especially after the riot in Queens.

Special Challenge Match: Raven vs. CM Punk- Former ECW world champion Raven is set to make his ROH debut in Boston!!! CM Punk was quick to challenge Raven to a match and the former ECW, WCW and WWE star had no problems accepting. Punk feels that ROH is for true athletes only and Raven's lifestyle of debauchery has no place in ROH. Punk's straight edge beliefs, meaning he is drug and alcohol free, make him the total opposite of the morose Raven. These two will settle their differences in what many avid tape traders consider a dream match this Saturday night in Boston. Will the rebellious Raven follow the Code Of Honor?

Fight For Respect: Low Ki & Da Hit Squad vs. Special K- The feud between Mafia & Monsta Mack, Da Hit Squad, and Special K has escalated. The disrespectful spoiled rich kid ravers make a mockery of The Code Of Honor and now Low Ki has had enough. Ki has requested to fight Special K so he can "beat some respect into them" and with DHS as his partners it looks like Special K could be in for a brutal ass kicking. However, the ravers usually travel in large numbers and there is no telling who Ki & DHS' opponents will be that night with Dixie, Deranged, Angel Dust, Hydro, Slugger, Slim J, Yeyo and Brian XL all schedule to be there.

High-Flying Challenge: The Amazing Red vs. Slim J- Last time Red was in ROH he lost to Special K member Jody Fleisch. Now Red is looking to even the score vs. Special K's Slim J. This one promises to be a lightning quick, dazzling contest between two competitors who are the future of aerial wrestling. This could be the beginning of a classic rivalry and a potential show stealer!!!

Special Attraction Match: Chad Collyer vs. Matt Stryker- These two pure wrestlers put on a technical masterpiece on 1/11 in Pittsburgh that Collyer won with the Texas cloverleaf. Now these two are looking to make a big impression in their Boston debuts in a match that promises to make any mat and technical wrestling fan happy. This card is so stacked that this is the opening match and that's saying a lot once you see these two impressive competitors. Both these men are looking to make an impact in ROH in 2003 and this show will be the place to start.

Added Bonus: Alex Arion vs. Hotstuff Hernandez- New England's top indy wrestler, Alex Arion, is going to be given a chance to shine in ROH as he heads into ECWA's Super 8 tournament. The monstrous Hotstuff Hernandez turned some heads at ROH's 2/8 event and this will be his opportunity to earn a fulltime spot in ROH. Both these men have jobs on the line in this one and need a good showing.

In addition to all these matches other action will feature Divine Storm, Dunn & Marcos plus others!!! Be there this Saturday night to see the ROH Boston debuts of several top talents on this action packed event!!!
